About

Welcome!

Hi, I’m Steph George and thanks for visiting my site! I began practicing massage therapy in 2004 after graduating from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy.

Since then, I’ve worked in wellness centers, private practice and now my home office in the Kerns neighborhood of Northeast Portland!  When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and indoor climbing. If everyone has a vice, then mine is skiing—in winter, I’m most likely to be found on the slopes of Mount Hood.

My Clients

Many of my clients are athletes or have high-stress office jobs, both of which can result in chronic pain that interferes with daily life.

I also see expecting moms and many people who simply need a massage to decompress and relax.

I booked a last minute massage and for the first time in a long time had my mind blown. Steph killed it. I am a lover of bodywork (as well as a therapist for a decade), and when asked what kind of pressure I prefer, I always answer with "the spectrum." I say that because I can appreciate and enjoy subtle work and its place, but I have since stopped answering with "deep" (what I really need), because I end up being disappointed with the outcome. I have a smaller/hyper-mobile frame. It is worked on either too deep/too fast or pressure intimidates people? Either way, I went in today with no expectation other than to relax. I got a helluva lot more.

Steph is informative, centered, communicative, and beyond all PRODUCTIVE! Her technique is skillful, knowledgeable, builds on itself and is inspirational. If you want to truly be em-bodied, and understand what that means fully, please seek her out, drink a ton of water, and embrace the mobility that is gifted to you.–Brittany M.

My Approach

Throughout my career, I’ve found that clients are most drawn to my work for its pain and tension relieving qualities, so this has become my specialty. I am also committed to preventative self-care—I love empowering my clients to take charge of their own self-care by providing suggestions on stretches and self-massage techniques. This can work wonders in preventing those painful “emergencies” from recurring.

I am dedicated to meeting each person at their need and comfort level, whether you prefer a light touch for relaxation or deep tissue work for pain relief and recovery. Over the years, I’ve developed my practice with a wide range of therapies including:

  • Deep tissue
  • Ashiatsu
  • Cupping
  • Gua sha
  • Hot stone massage
  • Hydrotherapy
  • Pre-natal
